Quality Assurance International (QAI), upon providing this certification, states that it has received the Certified Entity's application, reviewed its records, inspected its fields and/or facilities; and has determined that the products identified above are organically grown and/or processed and/or handled in accordance with applicable standards and statutes.
In its acceptance of this certification, the Certified Entity warrants, that it is in, and will remain in, full compliance with the terms and conditions of the certification agent; and in accordance with the general guidelines established by the Federal Organic Foods Production Act of 1990 (OFPA); and the specific statutes of the California Organic Foods Act of 1990.
American Institute of Baking (AIB) Superior Rating
A food safety audit was conducted at the facilities of Gold Coast Ingredients, Inc. on August 7, 2003. The writer was accompanied throughout the audit by Mr. James Sgro, President; Ms. Stephanie Spates, Quality Assurance Manager; Mr. Chuck Brasher, CEO; and Mr. Steve Torsky, Quality Assurance Manager.
Excellent cooperation was received by the writer, and on some occasions, the items were immediately corrected.
At the conclusion of the audit, a meeting was held to discuss the observations, recommendations and AIB Rating.
Based on the observations made, the information obtained, and the criteria set forth in the AIB Consolidated Standards for Food Safety, the overall food safety level of the facilities at Gold Coast Ingredients, Inc. was considered to be Superior.
